Overview

Finance Shared Services Centre Manager

Juriquilla, Querétaro, Mexico | Permanent staff role | Hybrid

Morgan Advanced Materials is establishing a new Finance Shared Services Centre in Juriquilla to support its businesses across the US and wider North America.
The centre brings together Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Treasury and junior accounting activities. We’re now looking for an experienced SSC Manager to lead the team, manage its output and make sure our US sites receive the accurate, timely and practical support they need. It’s a visible role with genuine scope to shape how the centre works as it grows

The role
You’ll take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the Juriquilla Finance SSC. That means leading the people, monitoring service delivery and dealing with issues before they become lengthy email chains involving half the finance organisation.
You’ll create clear priorities, sensible performance measures and consistent ways of working across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Treasury and junior accounting support. You’ll also work closely with finance leaders, controllers and site teams in the US, keeping them informed and making sure the SSC delivers what has been agreed
This isn’t a role for someone who only wants to review dashboards from a distance. You’ll need to understand the detail, support your team when problems arise and keep the bigger operational picture in view

Responsibilities

What you’ll do

  • Lead and develop the Juriquilla SSC team, setting clear objectives, service expectations and individual accountabilities.
  • Manage the quality, accuracy and timeliness of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Treasury and junior accounting output.
  • Build reliable working relationships with US finance teams, controllers and business stakeholders.
  • Monitor service levels and operational measures covering invoice processing, payments, collections, cash application, bank reconciliations, month-end activity and internal controls.
  • Support Accounts Payable performance, including invoice processing, supplier payments, reconciliations, vendor data and exception management.
  • Oversee transactional Treasury activity, including banking processes, cash positioning, reconciliations, payment controls and segregation of duties.
  • Manage month-end deliverables and help the team provide dependable accounting support to the US sites.
  • Investigate service failures and recurring problems, identifying root causes rather than applying the same temporary fix every month.
  • Improve processes through standardisation, automation and practical continuous improvement.
  • Maintain strong financial controls, process documentation and audit readiness.
  • Lead the transition and stabilisation of additional work moving into the SSC, including knowledge transfer and team training.
  • Report performance, risks and improvement priorities clearly to senior finance stakeholders.

Qualifications

What you’ll bring

  • Substantial experience in finance operations, including leadership responsibility within a Shared Service Centre.
  • Strong working knowledge across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and transactional Treasury.
  • Experience managing teams responsible for high-volume, deadline-driven finance processes.
  • Previous experience in a global or multinational organisation, with confidence working across countries, cultures and time zones.
  • The ability to communicate comfortably and professionally in English with US colleagues and senior stakeholders. Spanish fluency will also be important for leading the local team.
  • A sound understanding of financial controls, compliance, segregation of duties and audit requirements.
  • Experience setting and managing KPIs or service levels, then using the results to improve performance, not just tick boxes.
  • Confidence leading process transitions, operational change or finance transformation activity.
  • Experience with a major ERP platform such as Microsoft Dynamics 365, SAP, Oracle or JDE.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or a related discipline. A recognised accounting or continuous improvement qualification would be useful, but it isn’t the only measure of whether you can do the job.
  • A calm, organised and appropriately persistent approach. You’ll be comfortable challenging constructively, making decisions and taking ownership when something needs fixing.
  • You’ll live within a practical commuting distance of our Juriquilla office and be able to attend the site reliably as required.
The underlying role profile asks for at least eight years of finance experience and five years of leadership experience within Shared Services or Finance Operations. It also identifies multinational stakeholder management, ERP experience and strong internal-controls knowledge as important requirements.

What you’ll get

This is a permanent staff role with the opportunity to lead a newly established Finance SSC and influence how it develops as its North American scope grows. The role is based in Juriquilla, Querétaro, with a hybrid working arrangement and regular office attendance.
You’ll work with colleagues across Mexico, the US and the wider global finance organisation. Salary, benefits, working hours and the exact hybrid pattern will be discussed during the recruitment process.
