The Thermal Ceramics division designs, manufactures and installs a broad range of thermal insulation products that significantly reduce energy consumption and emissions in a variety of high temperature processing applications. Responsibilities

 

Starting Pay of $21.00 with increase after 90 days

 

POSITION SUMMARY

 

The Warehouse Associate will be responsible for performing all warehouse jobs including Receiving, Put-a-ways, Picking, Replenishments, Packing, Palletizing, load/unload trucks and overall Shipping. This position will be utilizing material handling equipment such as flatbed truck, flatbed trailer, forklift, pallet jack, etc., on interplant hauling assignments to and from warehousing and shipping areas, and occasionally to and from other areas outside the plant.

 

JOB FUNCTIONS

 

  • Move finished refractory products, packaging supplies, etc., from staging area, containers, etc., to proper warehouse location
  • Re-warehouse products and supplies, etc., to facilitate shipping or using oldest first. 
  • Work from loader’s copy to select, move and load refractory materials into railcars or trucks for shipment. 
  • Sign loader’s copy and is responsible for correctness of materials loaded. 
  • Maintain warehouse areas and trucks in a clean and orderly state. 
  • Must be knowledgeable of and work with various product lines. 
  • Keep records and perform driver maintenance services on truck. 
  • Contributes to inventory quality and accuracy assurance program.
  • Contributes to physical inventory process and cycle counts.
  • Process inbound receiving of containers or full trucks, truck pallet shipments, and small parcel shipments

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • GED/High School Diploma preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in shipping and receiving, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to obtain forklift certification.

 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Ability to identify product by size, type, and style or product code.
  • Solid reading skills – must be able to read orders/match order on shipping tickets to items picked.
  • Ability to understand and execute instructions.
  • Operate inventory control equipment, i.e., bar-coding equipment, handheld devices.  
  • Demonstrated strong written, interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organization and time management skills and able to work under pressure.
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft products and JDE preferred).

 

SCHEDULE DESCRIPTION

The schedule for this position is Tuesday through Saturday from 3:00pm – 11:30pm. May need to work holidays and overtime as needed.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • This position will work primarily on the production floor.
  • The noise level in the work environment may reach above 85 decibels when on the production floor.
  • During summer months, employee may have to work in temperatures as high as 110 degrees for prolonged periods of time.
  • The employee constantly works near rotating equipment, mechanical parts, and lift trucks.
  • Required to wear steel toed shoes, safety glasses and ear plugs in the manufacturing area.
  • Respirators may be required in specific areas of the plant.
  • Ability to maneuver around equipment and on various platforms within the production area.
