We are seeking a dedicated Mechanical Technician for our Testing Site in Parma, Ohio, which primarily focuses on application testing for the Performance Carbon division. This role is critical for ensuring seamless day-to-day operations of the site while reporting to Site Lead within the Technology function. The Mechanical Technician will be responsible for running materials tests under application conditions, building cutting-edge testing equipment, performing basic site maintenance tasks, overseeing application tests, reporting and interpreting results.

Responsibilities

 

  • Application Testing: Execute, standardize, document, and interpret application tests, ensuring thorough execution and accurate reporting of results.
  • Innovative Technique Development: Collaborate with the Technology function to develop innovative testing techniques for our materials.
  • Communication & Reporting: Collaborate with Site Lead to prepare communications for Technology and Commercial functions.
  • Site Maintenance: Work with Site Lead to optimize site operations as needed to enhance efficiency.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Education: An associates degree in mechanical, machining, or an electrically-related discipline is desired.
  • Experience: Proven experience in an industrial, technical or testing environment, preferably related to application testing or product performance assessment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Technical Proficiency: Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, graphing applications and computers; must understand the fundamentals and practical aspects of mechanical work, ideally including rotating machine operation. Welding and machining  experience.
  • Hands-On Approach: Must be hands-on in executing tasks and coming up with new solutions.
  • Analytical Abilities: Excellent problem-solving skills, analytical thinking, and attention to detail.
  • Continuous Learning: Willingness to constantly study and learn new techniques relevant to the role.
