Responsibilities

The Maintenance Helper performs basic maintenance, housekeeping, and equipment support functions within a manufacturing environment. This position assists the Maintenance Manager with simple maintenance tasks, repairs, and routine preventive maintenance (PM) activities to support safe and efficient plant operations.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform general cleaning and housekeeping of maintenance areas, production floors, and facility spaces.
  • Assist Maintenance Manager with basic maintenance activities and simple repairs.
  • Support routine preventive maintenance (PM) on manufacturing equipment and facility systems under supervision.
  • Help clean, lubricate, and inspect machinery and equipment per PM schedules and instructions.
  • Assist with basic mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic maintenance tasks as trained.
  • Replace light bulbs, belts, filters, hoses, and other basic components as directed.
  • Assist with setup, teardown, or movement of equipment and machinery.
  • Identify and report equipment issues, unsafe conditions, or maintenance needs.
  • Organize and maintain maintenance tools, parts, and supplies.
  • Assist with minor facility repairs including doors, floors, walls, painting, and grounds upkeep.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area at all times.
  • Follow all safety rules including lockout/tagout (LOTO), machine guarding, and PPE requirements.
  • Comply with all company policies, quality standards, and safety procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or required.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Mechanical aptitude and interest in maintenance or industrial trades.
  • Basic familiarity with hand tools and power tools (training provided).
  • Willingness to learn manufacturing equipment and preventive maintenance practices.
  • Strong attention to safety and detail.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Individual must be a:
    • Citizen of the United States, or
    • Permanent resident alien of the United States, or
    • Protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3) as defined by 22CFR120.15

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the plant for 8+ hours per day
  • Must be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces
  • Required to reach above shoulder height and/or below the waist
  • Exposure to manufacturing environments requiring the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Exposure to noise, dust, heat, cold, vibration, and odors typical of industrial operations
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks requiring manual dexterity

 

Pay Range: $18.00 to $20.00 per hour
