Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented HR Business Partner to support our St Marys operations.  This role will serve as a trusted partner to leaders and employees, driving day-to-day HR operations while fostering a culture of accountability, engagement, and operational excellence.  The ideal candidate brings energy, sound judgment, and a hands-on approach to supporting our team and advancing our people strategy.  

 

Essential Functions:

  • Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings. 
  • Establishes external relationships within the community to generate ongoing pipeline of candidates. 
  • Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications. 
  • Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs. 
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development. 
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to appropriate staff. 
  • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licenses, and aptitude exams and certifications.
  • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations. 
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance. 
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned. 

 

Qualifications

  • Degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent years of experience and education/training. 
  • At least 2-4 years of HR Generalist or Business Partner experience preferred. 
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.  
  • Good attention to detail is a must.  Strong interpersonal skills are essential.   
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Access, Power BI); advanced proficiency in Excel preferred. 
  • Possess superior organization, presentation skills, and critical thinking. 
  • Advanced English knowledge. 
  • Must be able to maintain employee confidentiality.
