Responsibilities

Position Summary

The Warehouse Shipping Clerk is responsible for coordinating daily shipping activities, ensuring that outgoing orders are processed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with company standards. This role plays a key part in maintaining smooth warehouse operations by preparing shipments, maintaining documentation, and supporting overall inventory control.


Key Responsibilities

Shipping & Order Fulfillment

  • Prepare, package, and label outgoing shipments according to company and carrier requirements.
  • Verify accuracy of order details, quantities, and shipping instructions prior to dispatch.
  • Schedule pickups with carriers and ensure timely movement of goods.

Documentation & Systems

  • Generate bills of lading, packing lists, and shipping labels through warehouse management systems (WMS) or ERP software.
  • Maintain accurate shipping logs and records of daily shipments.
  • Update inventory counts and order statuses in the system.

Warehouse Coordination

  • Work with receiving, inventory, and production teams to confirm product readiness for shipment.
  • Assist with loading trucks using pallet jacks or forklifts (if certified).
  • Report any shipment delays, inventory discrepancies, or damaged products to supervisors.

Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure packaging meets quality standards and prevents product damage.
  • Follow all safety guidelines, including proper PPE usage and safe equipment operation.
  • Comply with company policies, OSHA guidelines, and shipping regulations.

Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 1–2 years of warehouse, logistics, or shipping/receiving experience.
  • Basic computer skills, including familiarity with WMS, ERP, or shipping software.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.

Preferred

  • Forklift certification.
  • Experience with carriers (UPS, FedEx, LTL freight).
  • Knowledge of inventory control practices.
