Overview

QHSE Manager
Location: Thouarcé, France

Quality, Health, Safety, Environment. Four words that keep a site running smoothly and people safe. This role is about making sure those aren’t just words on a policy document.

You’ll lead the QHSE function for the site, manage a small team, and make sure our systems actually work in practice. From audits and certifications to training and crisis management, you’ll be the person who keeps standards high and risks low. You’ll also sit on the site’s management committee, so your voice will matter when decisions are made.

You’ll define and deploy the site’s QHSE policy, in line with group rules. You’ll build and maintain the management system, run audits, and lead improvement projects. You’ll also make sure customer requirements are understood and met, and that safety is never compromised.

Responsibilities

  • Set and deliver the QHSE policy for the site.
  • Build and maintain the QHSE management system.
  • Run audits and inspections, then follow up with corrective actions.
  • Lead customer and certification audits.
  • Train and engage staff on QHSE issues.
  • Manage emergency situations and regulatory compliance.
  • Drive continuous improvement across quality and HSE processes.
  • Oversee environmental analysis and risk assessments.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external bodies (clients, suppliers, regulators).
  • Actively contribute as a member of the site’s management committee.

 

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of QHSE management systems and applicable standards.
  • Experience in the aeronautics sector, including PPAP, DVI, and customer quality requirements.
  • Hands-on experience with audits, certifications, and compliance.
  • Good understanding of customer requirements and quality processes.
  • Comfortable managing a team and working across departments.
  • Organised, proactive, and able to prioritise.
  • Confident communicator in French and English (B1 level minimum).
  • Solid IT skills and a practical approach to problem-solving.

 

Nice to Have

  • Knowledge of homologation processes.
  • Experience writing investment requests and justifying ROI.
