Responsibilities

Summary:

 

The Punch Press Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining punch press machines to fabricate metal components according to specifications. This role ensures precision, quality, and safety in all operations while meeting production schedules.

Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate multiple punch press machines to stamp/cut metal parts.
  • Read and interpret work orders, quality and related documents, and technical drawings.
  • Basic computer skills needed in order to log in and out of jobs correctly in our system.
  • Adjust machine settings for material type, thickness, and required tolerances.
  • Inspect finished parts for accuracy and quality using measuring tools (calipers, micrometers) as well as for visual defects.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot minor machine issues.
  • Collaborate with tooling department regarding quality issues.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Record production data and report any discrepancies or defects.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals.
  • Complete work orders and department-related paperwork
  • Maintain department housekeeping (6S) and strive for continuous improvement
  • Observes all Company and safety rules
  • Performs other tasks and duties as assigned
  • Understands the cost of scrap contamination and guards against it
  • Regular and predictable attendance is required.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Basic computer skills
  • 1–3 years operating punch press or similar machinery in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Good communication skills 
  • Ability to read drawings and use precision measuring instruments
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and be a team player 
  • Must pass pre-employment drug and background investigation.
  • Individual must be a Citizen of the United States, or Permanent resident alien of the United States, or Protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)

Salary: $23.00 to $25.00 per hour.
