Responsibilities

Part-time (20–25 hours/week), flexible options available. Some travel required.
Morgan runs a regional in-house legal team that does more than just tick boxes. We partner with the business to manage legal and commercial risk in a way that actually helps things get done.
We’re looking for an Associate Regional Counsel to join our Americas team. You’ll work closely with the Regional Counsel and senior stakeholders, handling a mix of commercial contracts, regulatory issues, and the occasional curveball. If you like variety and autonomy, you’ll fit right in.

What you’ll do

  • Review, draft, and negotiate material commercial contracts (sales, purchasing, NDAs, distribution agreements, etc.).
  • Advise senior management and teams across commercial, operations, and finance on legal issues.
  • Handle product liability disputes and general commercial litigation.
  • Support M&A and joint venture projects.
  • Work with R&D on IP matters, including development and collaboration agreements.
  • Manage external counsel for specialist areas like employment, environmental, or data protection.
  • Advise on regulatory issues (trade controls, competition law, anti-bribery, government contracting).
  • Deliver training on relevant legal topics.

Qualifications

What you’ll bring

  • Licensed to practice law and in good standing in your state.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in commercial law—ideally with strong contract negotiation skills.
  • In-house experience is great, but private practice lawyers are welcome too.
  • Ability to cut through complexity and offer pragmatic solutions.
  • Strong communication skills—you can explain legal issues without sounding like a textbook.
  • Comfortable working independently in a small team with plenty of autonomy.
  • Resilient, proactive, and able to juggle multiple priorities without losing your cool.
  • Tech-savvy enough to handle MS Office and willing to learn new tools.

Nice to have

  • Experience in the manufacturing sector.
  • Familiarity with trade controls (EAR/ITAR), privacy, or cyber security.

What you’ll get

  • Flexible hours (20–25 per week) and home-based working.
  • Occasional travel to major sites in the Americas.
  • A role with real variety and influence in a small, collaborative legal team.

If this sounds like you, apply now. Don’t have an up-to-date CV? No problem—apply with what you have or reach out to our Talent team on LinkedIn.
