Overview

HSE Manager – Saint-Marcellin-en-Forez

We make advanced materials that keep industries running safely and efficiently. This site has 140 people and a lot going on, so health, safety and environmental performance isn’t just a box to tick – it’s critical.

That’s where you come in. You’ll lead the site’s HSE strategy, manage one direct report, and sit on the leadership team. You’ll also be a key member of the site management team, deploying site and group EHS programs in close coordination with site leadership and Corporate functions. Your job is to keep us compliant, reduce risk, and drive continuous improvement – and to build a strong safety culture and safety leadership across operations. In short: make sure everyone goes home safe and the planet doesn’t suffer in the process.

Responsibilities

  • Set and deliver HSE objectives aligned with company and group goals.
  • Embed HSE into daily operations – not just posters on the wall.
  • Run audits and inspections, then follow up with action plans.
  • Keep us compliant with French regulations and Morgan standards.
  • Lead root cause investigations and make sure fixes stick.
  • Develop emergency response plans and fire prevention measures.
  • Coach managers and train staff on all things HSE.
  • Own site hygiene assessments (chemicals, dust, noise, vibration).
  • Build relationships with regulators and handle inspections.
  • Track and report HSE metrics, and lead continuous improvement projects.
  • Deploy group EHS programs and drive safety culture across the site.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Health, Safety, Environment or similar (Bac+4/5).
  • Solid knowledge of HSE management systems and French regulations.
  • Hands-on experience with risk analysis, industrial hygiene, environmental compliance, and fire prevention.
  • Comfortable leading audits, training teams, and managing projects.
  • Organised, observant, and good at influencing people.
  • Fluent in French and English, written and spoken.

Nice to have

  • Experience with PSM (Process Safety Management).
  • Ergonomics and TMS prevention know-how.

What you’ll get

  • A role with real impact and autonomy.
  • A leadership seat and the chance to shape site culture.
  • Competitive salary and benefits.
  • A company that values safety and sustainability.
