Overview

Quality Manager – Fostoria, Ohio
Performance Carbon Business Unit

Morgan makes advanced materials that help other industries do difficult things like handling extreme heat, pressure, or precision. Our Performance Carbon business unit focuses on engineered carbon products used in everything from aerospace to industrial manufacturing. This role is central to keeping that quality bar high.

We’re after someone who knows ISO 9001 inside out, can lead a team, and isn’t fazed by audits, complaints, or calibration schedules. You’ll be the person making sure our carbon products meet spec, our processes stay sharp, and our compliance boxes are ticked for the right reasons.

The Role

You’ll lead the Quality Management System (QMS) for our Fostoria site. That means overseeing inspections, audits, complaints, and compliance. You’ll work closely with vendors, internal teams, and customers to make sure quality isn’t just a buzzword, it’s built into everything we do.

Responsibilities

  • Run the QMS and ensure it meets ISO 9001, customer, and legal standards
  • Manage internal audits, customer complaints, and corrective actions
  • Oversee inspection of incoming and outgoing materials
  • Monitor and improve internal processes that affect product quality
  • Lead calibration and inspection of measuring devices
  • Conduct management review meetings and report on QMS performance
  • Support daily operations and drive continuous improvement projects
  • Evaluate vendor quality systems and support RFQs
  • Assist with export compliance and handling of controlled information

Qualifications

About You / What You’ll Bring

  • BS in engineering, chemistry, or similar
  • 7+ years in quality or process engineering, ideally in manufacturing
  • 5+ years in a leadership role
  • Solid grasp of ISO 9001, quality assurance/control, and QMS
  • Experience bridging product development and manufacturing
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Able to work well across teams and with external contacts
  • US citizen, permanent resident, or protected individual (due to ITAR/EAR/NRC regulations)
  • Detail-oriented, organised, and not afraid of a bit of paperwork

Nice to Have

  • Project management experience
  • Background in industrial, refinery, or materials sectors
  • Experience with export compliance and handling CUI

What You’ll Get

  • Competitive salary and benefits
  • A role with real impact in a business that values precision and quality
  • Supportive team and leadership
  • Opportunities to improve processes and shape how things are done
