Overview

As Quality Lead, you will drive quality across all production and operations, reporting directly to the Quality and Compliance Manager. Reporting to the EC UK Quality and Compliance Manager, your role is to maintain and continually improve quality systems, ensure compliance, and optimise customer satisfaction.

The Technical Ceramics business of Morgan Advanced Materials engineers high performance functional and structural ceramic materials, components and sub-assemblies to address customer-specific technical challenges.

 

Key Figures: Revenue £1,100.7m (2024), ~8,000 employees, manufacturing in 20+ countries, and a global customer portfolio. A UK PLC with head office located in Windsor, Berkshire UK.  Listed on London Stock Exchange; Member of the FTSE 250 Index.

 

 

Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with ISO standards and coordinate audits
  • Lead process improvement initiatives using Lean methodologies, Six Sigma, and root cause analysis techniques
  • Supervise quality personnel and provide training on applicable standards and regulatory compliance
  • Conduct and support internal and supplier audits; respond to audit findings with appropriate actions
  • Manage non-conformance cases and customer complaints; develop and execute corrective action plans
  • Review and present quality data and performance metrics to management
  • Assist with supplier qualification procedures and material quality evaluations
  • Oversee product release processes, ensuring all compliance requirements and documentation are met
  • Serve as the main contact for customer quality-related inquiries
  • Ensure health, safety, and environmental requirements are enforced within quality operations
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to confirm new products meet established quality criteria and customer specifications
  • Develop and maintain documentation for quality processes, procedures, and work instructions
  • Investigate non-conformances and coordinate corrective/preventive measures to resolve system deficiencies
  • Guide implementation of digital tools and systems for quality data management and reporting
  • Participate in risk assessments, including FMEA, to identify and address potential quality issues
  • Support regulatory compliance activities and monitor updates to industry standards
  • Facilitate the use of 5Why and 8D (Eight Disciplines) problem-solving methodology for resolving complex quality concerns, leading cross-functional teams through structured root cause analysis and corrective action plans
  • Promote continuous process improvement throughout the organization.

Qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent experience in engineering, manufacturing, or quality
  • Experience in manufacturing quality roles; knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 required
  • Skilled in audits and quality improvement projects
  • Experience with FMEA, APQP, PPAP, SPC, and EHS standards
  • Strong analytical, communication, and organisational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
