The Technical Ceramics business of Morgan Advanced Materials engineers high performance functional and structural ceramic materials, components and sub-assemblies to address customer-specific technical challenges.

Responsibilities

The HR Advisor plays a pivotal role in supporting the organisation's people strategy, providing expert guidance and support on a range of human resources matters. This position works closely with managers and employees to promote a positive workplace culture, ensure compliance with employment legislation, and drive continuous improvement in HR practices.

 

Responsibilities

  • Administrative Support: Assist with day-to-day HR operations and administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and record-keeping.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with HR policies, procedures, and legal regulations, keeping up to date with UK employment laws.
  • Payroll Support: Prepare payroll data, addressing T&A issues, checking the payslips, processing agency timesheets and answering payroll-related queries. Adherence to processing and reporting deadlines.
  • Employee Relations: Advise managers and employees on HR policies and procedures, handle employee relations issues, and support the resolution of workplace conflicts in a fair and consistent manner.
  • Case Management: Manage and support disciplinary, grievance, and capability cases, ensuring processes are followed and documented in line with organisational policies and legal requirements.
  • Recruitment & Selection: Assist with recruitment campaigns, including drafting job descriptions, shortlisting candidates, conducting interviews, and supporting the onboarding and offboarding process.
  • Performance Management: Guide managers and staff through the performance appraisal process, provide advice on objective setting, and support development plans.
  • Policy Development: Contribute to the review, development, and implementation of HR policies and procedures in line with best practice and current legislation.
  • Absence Management: Monitor and report on absence levels, support managers with return-to-work interviews, and advise on occupational health referrals where appropriate.
  • Learning & Development: Identify training needs, coordinate learning activities, and promote a culture of continuous professional development.
  • Data Management: Maintain accurate HR records, reports and systems such as MEIS, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data protection regulations.
  • Project Work: Participate in or lead HR projects as required, supporting organisational change and improvement initiatives.
  • EHS: Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, ensuring a safe working environment for all employees and compliance with relevant health and safety regulations.

Qualifications

Qualifications and Skills

  • Minimum CIPD Level 3 with a desire to progress to level 5
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of UK Employment Legislation
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Must have good time management, planning and negotiation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to travel to other locations to attend meetings, training or support other Morgan sites.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and learning.
