POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Training and EHS Coordinator to lead and optimize our training programs while advancing our Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) initiatives. This dual-role position is critical in ensuring that training efforts are effective, accessible, and aligned with organizational goals, while also fostering a culture of safety and sustainability across the site.
The ideal candidate will collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs), instructional designers, and team leads to deliver high-quality learning experiences and drive continuous improvement. They will also champion our safety-first culture, lead EHS initiatives, and innovate processes to enhance workplace safety and environmental stewardship.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Training Program Management: Maintain accurate records of compliance, technical, and internal training (e.g., Safety, HR, Quality). Prepare onboarding materials and training documentation for new hires. Assign job-specific training through the Learning Management System (LMS).
Content Development & Collaboration: Partner with SMEs to ensure training content, work instructions (WIs), and standard operating procedures (SOPs) are current and relevant. Develop and update training materials such as presentations, job aids, and handouts.
Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve training processes, record-keeping systems, and employee development frameworks. Implement best practices in ergonomics, hygiene sampling, and job hazard analysis.
Audit & Compliance: Conduct internal and external audits to ensure compliance with EHS and Quality standards, as well as federal, state, and local regulations. Serve as the lead for ISO 14001 audits, ensuring system integrity and audit readiness.
Training Coordination: Coordinate training activities across onboarding, progression, and promotion stages. Collaborate with HR to ensure timely processing of training-related pay increases. Communicate training schedules, deadlines, and updates to department leaders and SMEs.
EHS Investigations & Inspections: Lead or support investigations of health and safety incidents. Inspect and maintain plant safety equipment, including fire extinguishers, eyewash stations, emergency lighting, ladders, forklifts, and related systems.
Performance Metrics & Reporting: Track and report on training KPIs such as Job Performance Impact, Training ROI, and Learner Retention Rate. Monitor and report EHS metrics including Near Misses, DWB (Days Without a Breakthrough), VSL hours, utility usage, and emissions.
Committee Leadership: Lead safety and training committee meetings, facilitate feedback discussions, and implement improvements. Conduct GEMBA walks with committee members to identify and address safety and training opportunities.
