Make a real impact in the future of mobility

Thermal Ceramics makes materials that protect people, machines and the planet. In automotive, that means helping electric vehicles avoid thermal runaway and keeping internal combustion engines insulated and efficient. It’s technical, yes, but it’s also about sustainability, safety, and shaping the future of transport.

This role puts you at the heart of our global growth strategy. You’ll lead business development across regions, helping us bring smarter, safer thermal solutions to OEMs and Tier 1s. It’s commercial, collaborative, and full of opportunity to make a meaningful impact - not just for our customers, but for the wider world.

The role

You’ll lead global business development for our automotive customers, with a focus on EV and ICE applications. That means spotting opportunities, shaping strategy, and working closely with regional teams to turn plans into results. You’ll also be the one making sure we’re in the right conversations, with the right people, at the right time.

  • Build strong relationships with OEMs, Tier 1s and internal teams across regions
  • Prepare bid summaries and opportunity briefings for senior leadership
  • Guide regional teams to focus efforts and maximise global impact
  • Analyse market conditions, competitors, and regulatory requirements
  • Develop pricing models and growth programmes for global customers
  • Keep the new business pipeline fresh, focused and forward-looking
  • Champion innovation in automotive applications with product and tech teams
  • Attend industry events and stay on top of trends
  • Collaborate with sales, engineering, customer service and production

Qualifications

About you / What you’ll bring

  • Degree in Business or similar, or equivalent experience
  • At least 5 years in a commercial role working with OEMs and Tier 1s
  • Solid understanding of EV and ICE applications (ESS/Fuel Cell knowledge is a bonus)
  • Experience with long sales cycles and complex buying centres
  • Knowledge of automotive supply chains, vehicle development, and quality systems (IATF 16949)
  • Strategic thinker with strong project management skills
  • Comfortable with value-based selling and customer lifecycle management
  • Fluent in English (Mandarin or Korean would be a plus)
  • A collaborative mindset and a drive to make a positive impact

Nice to have

  • Experience working across global teams and time zones
  • A knack for turning technical detail into commercial opportunity

What you’ll get

  • A remote-first role with global scope
  • Travel opportunities (up to 50%)
  • The chance to shape strategy in a growing, sustainability-focused market
  • A collaborative team across regions and disciplines
  • Competitive salary and benefits (we’ll talk specifics when you apply)
