Overview

Designs, develops and implements tools, fixtures, and another equipment used in manifacturing processes. 

Work to improve existing tooling, create new designs, and ensure tools are functioning properly and efficiently. 

This includes tasks like creating blueprints, troubleshooting issues, and collaborating with other engineers and manufacturing staff. 

 

Responsibilities

    • Design and Development:

    Creating new tooling designs, including jigs, fixtures, and other manufacturing aids, often using CAD software. 

     

    Improving existing tools and fixtures to enhance efficiency, quality, and performance. 

     

    • Collaboration:

    Working closely with production teams, designers, and other engineers to identify tooling needs and ensure solutions meet production goals. 

     

    • Troubleshooting:

    Identifying and resolving tooling-related issues and providing technical support. 

     

    Performing regular maintenance, upgrades, and repairs on tools and equipment. 

     

    Ensuring tooling designs and processes comply with industry standards and safety regulations. 

     

    • Inventory Management:

    Managing tooling inventory and procurement. 

     

    • Project Management:

    Potentially managing tooling projects from conception to completion. 

     

    • Training:

    Training and mentoring junior engineers and technicians on tooling processes and procedures. 

     

Qualifications

 

  • Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorksAutoCAD), understanding of manufacturing processes, and knowledge of tooling design principles. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve tooling issues. 
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with various teams. 
  • Attention to Detail:
  • Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accurate and high-quality tool designs. 
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field is typically required.
