Location: UK Remote (with travel to HQ or site as required)

 

Role: Power BI (Business Intelligence) Developer / Data Engineer

The primary focus of the IT Shared Service is to drive system, process, infrastructure, and service improvement through knowledge, innovation, and best practices—enhancing competitive differentiators while driving economic, commercial, and operational efficiency.

In parallel, the Shared Service delivers and maintains common technology standards, configurations, operating policies, processes, and tools, providing continuous education to ensure an efficient technology platform that enables global collaboration internally and with customers and suppliers.

Responsibilities

Overview & Scope of Role

  • Develop Power BI reports and dashboards.
  • Work with Azure Synapse serverless SQL, ETL/ELT, and data modelling.
  • Participate in requirements-gathering sessions with business and technical stakeholders.
  • Build and optimise Synapse serverless data structures to support analytics use cases.
  • Develop Power BI datasets, semantic models, and report layers aligned to defined requirements.
  • Implement efficient DAX calculations, Power Query transformations, and data preparation steps.
  • Produce reporting for commercial, operations, and manufacturing domains including SIOP, procurement, sales performance, inventory, and production.
  • Analyse and document data requirements using established organisational standards.
  • Ensure delivered work aligns with existing data governance and modelling practices.
  • Support users in understanding delivered datasets and reports as needed.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in Power BI development.
  • Strong experience with Azure Synapse serverless, SQL transformations, and data engineering workloads.
  • Strong experience with scripting/programming languages for automation or data processing.
  • High proficiency with Power Query, DAX, T-SQL, and dimensional modelling.
  • Hands-on experience with Dynamics 365 F&O data tables, entities, and business processes.
  • Experience in the Microsoft BI stack, including Power Automate.
  • PL-300 certification preferred but not required.

Financial Results

  • Guide and assist users in making effective use of data and analytics to identify business opportunities and improve financial and operational performance.

Strategy

  • Collaborate with global IT to develop and provide input into the reporting and analytics segment of Group IT technology standards and strategy.
  • Participate in the development and maintenance of corporate data standards.

Business Development

  • Work with clients/users on development projects to make effective use of database management systems, query languages, and other DB tools and techniques.
  • Specify information flows, processes/procedures, and data objects that meet business requirements.

People & Culture

  • Maintain relationships between Cluster Business Relationship Managers, business staff, global applications staff, and global IT on analytics and software development activities.
  • Contribute as a member of the Global Applications team.
  • Push creative thinking beyond existing industry practices and company mindsets.
  • Ensure a value-adding Customer Service and Continuous Service ethos.

Environmental, Safety, Risk & Compliance

  • Develop and maintain external links on Health, Safety, and Environmental aspects of manufacture and application of products, ensuring compliance internally.
  • Observe health and safety legislation and codes of practice; maintain statutory registers and records.
  • Ensure team members are competent, trained, supervised, and informed to carry out duties safely.
  • Champion the ‘ThinkSafe’ initiative and lead the development of safety culture across all locations.

Business & Domain Experience

  • Strong exposure to manufacturing, supply chain, or engineering environments.
  • Deep understanding of commercial and manufacturing reporting:
    • SIOP
    • Procurement & purchasing
    • Sales & order processing
    • Inventory & production metrics
  • Ability to interpret business processes and map them into effective data models.
