Job Title:         Process Engineer

Location:         200 N. Town St., Fostoria, OH 44830

 

Duties:

  • Develop and ensure manufacturing processes meet stringent quality standards for electrical carbon and molten metal systems (MMS) products.
  • Assist in the development of process parameters and data used in establishing operating standards for manufacturing methods for electrical carbon and MMS products.
  • Drive testing and analysis to establish new practices for electrical carbon and MMS products.
  • Assist in optimizing processes and troubleshooting manufacturing problems as necessary.
  • Control procedures and documentation to ensure goals and deadlines are met.

 

Responsibilities

  • Lead the process evaluation to help optimize product quality and productivity.
  • Direct planning and implementing new projects for electrical carbon and MMS products.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation for manufacturing processes.
  • Establish effective communication, coordination, and working relationships with staff, customers, and management.
  • Requires up to 10% domestic travel.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent based on combination of education and/or work experience) in chemical engineering, materials science, engineering technology, or related field.
  • Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC), continuous improvement, and quality improvement techniques (Six Sigma DMAIC or 8D problem solving).
  • At least three years of experience with carbon/graphite processing and characterization, materials testing methods, and failure analysis techniques.
