ROLE PROFILE: Temporary Planning/ Production Support Administrator    

FUNCTION: Production       

REPORTS TO:  Operations Manager    

LOCATION: Swansea

 

To support our Highlander Project, we are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Planning/Production Support Administrator for a period of 12-18 months, with experience in Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) to join our team. This individual will play an important role in ensuring seamless operations within our production planning process, supporting users and stakeholders, and maintaining system integrity for D365 applications. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of supply chain, production processes, and a hands-on approach to troubleshooting and improving business processes in a manufacturing or production environment.

Responsibilities

  • Encourage a ThinkSafe culture.
  • Maintain a clean, organised working environment which conforms to the relevant Health & Safety and Environmental standards.
  • Report any near misses or ‘Don’t Walk By’ observations.
  • Work with production and maintenance staff to build strong working relationships to enable feedback about manufacturing processes.
  • Provide day-to-day support for production planning users in D365.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system issues related to production planning, inventory management, and order processing.
  • Assist users with understanding and resolving any errors or discrepancies in D365 related to production and planning activities.
  • Assist in the creation and management of production orders, bill of materials (BOMs), and routes within D365.
  • Support capacity planning, material requirements planning (MRP), and supply chain management functions.
  • Create and maintain system documentation, process guides, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Generate regular and ad-hoc reports related to production and planning performance, including inventory levels, production efficiency, and order status.
  • Main Point of Contact: Act as the local liaison between central programme teams and site stakeholders, ensuring smooth communication and coordination.
  • Define and update action plans in collaboration with subject matter experts (SMEs).
  • Coordinate local testing effort including identification of scenarios
  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Supply Chain & Operations, specifically in modules related to Production Control, Supply Chain Management, and Inventory Management.
  • Familiarity with system setup, configuration, and basic troubleshooting within the D365 environment.
  • Understanding of production planning, MRP, and supply chain processes within a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Experience with production scheduling, BOM management, and work order generation.
  • Basic knowledge of SQL or data query tools for generating reports and analysing system data.
  • Experience with Excel for reporting and data manipulation.

Qualifications

  • Able to work independently as well as working effectively as part of a cross-functional team.
  • Demonstrate problem analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be confident in carrying out project work and taking responsibility for driving projects to completion.
  • Must be able to clearly present ideas and reports in written and verbal format.
  • Must have well developed interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Microsoft Dynamics 365 certification (or relevant certifications) in Supply Chain Management or Production Control is a plus.
  • Any certifications in Lean Manufacturing or other production-related methodologies are an advantage.
  • Previous experience working in manufacturing, distribution, or other production-centric industries.
  • Experience with inventory optimization, warehouse management, and order fulfilment processes.
