Location: Remote (based in Europe or UK, ideally near a major airport)
Travel: Up to 50%

About the Role

We’re hiring a Manufacturing Director – Finishing for our Performance Carbon business. This is a global role with full accountability for finishing operations across multiple international sites including the US, UK, Mexico, South Africa, Europe and Asia. Reporting to the Operations and Supply Chain Director, you will play a key role in delivering our Sales and Operations Plan.

 

You’ll lead cross-functional teams across production, engineering, quality, CI, EHS and maintenance. You’ll drive operational performance, embed standards and lead change. Strong collaboration with our Materials Manufacturing Director and senior stakeholders is critical to success in this role.

 

Responsibilities

 

What You’ll Do

  • Lead global finishing site operations, ensuring delivery of volume, service level, margin and cost targets
  • Drive performance using robust SIOP processes, ensuring alignment of production capability with commercial demand
  • Embed a culture of health and safety and ensure compliance with all relevant EHS standards and practices
  • Standardise quality and operational excellence practices across all sites, including Lean, CI and TPM
  • Improve flow, reduce waste and optimise asset utilisation through strong leadership and structured KPIs
  • Support the global implementation of Microsoft Dynamics 365, ensuring alignment with site-level operations and ERP practices
  • Collaborate across functions to ensure integration of HR, finance, engineering and supply chain
  • Develop and support local leadership teams, building capability and succession for long-term success

 

Qualifications

What You’ll Bring

  • Proven leadership experience across multi-site or global manufacturing operations
  • Background in machining or finishing operations with strong process control and continuous improvement skills
  • Understanding of SIOP as a tool to connect commercial, planning and operational performance
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and business transformation, ideally including experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365
  • Degree in engineering, supply chain or operations (MBA or business degree an advantage)
  • Comfortable working across functions, regions and cultures to align strategy and execution
  • Fluent English. Additional languages an advantage
  • Ability to travel internationally up to 50%
