Responsibilities

Job Purpose:
This position is part of the EHS and Property Management and its main purpose is to carry out activities aimed at preventing accidents, incidents and occupational diseases, as well as preserving the physical integrity of all staff. Minimise, reduce and eliminate all types of risks through the implementation of preventive and corrective measures.  

 

Main Responsibilities:
- Responsible for conducting periodic safety walkthroughs throughout the Plant to verify the operation of emergency equipment such as: Fire extinguishers, eye wash stations and emergency showers, anti-spill kits, CO2 fixed systems, hydrant network, plant alarms among others; to ensure that these systems will work in an emergency case according to what is indicated in the current regulations;

- Supports the review of the records of the logs of the equipment that generates atmospheric emissions such as dust collectors, smoke extractors and furnaces, as well as carrying out periodic inspections of the installed equipment; in order to verify its proper functioning and reduce environmental risks.
- He/she is responsible for the management of urban solid waste, special handling and hazardous waste at the plant, carries out tours in these areas to identify areas of opportunity, supervises and controls collection, keeps the procedure up to date and informs of updates, generates indicator reports and informs the corresponding persons to maintain the continuous improvement of the process.

- Promotes staff awareness of the correct separation of waste.
- Is responsible for managing the temporary storage of hazardous waste with the support of a maintenance technician, labelling and weighing hazardous waste and keeping the logbook, in order to ensure the correct disposal of this waste in compliance with the applicable legal regulations.
- He is responsible for issuing hazardous work permits to maintenance personnel and contractors, as well as supervising the activities they carry out within the facilities.

- Supports in the dissemination and training of staff to create awareness and culture focused on safety (quarterly themes, safety alerts, training on safety, hygiene and environment).
- Supports in safety audits (Don't Walk By and Take 5)
- Support in collecting information for ergonomic analysis.
- Support in the investigation of accidents and incidents. 
- Support in gathering information for machinery and process risk analysis.
- Support in obtaining information required for licences, permits and authorisations in terms of safety, hygiene and the environment.

Qualifications

TECHNICAL SKILLS:


- English at basic-intermediate level
- Health and safety regulations
- Environmental regulations
- Knowledge of emergency brigades
- Bachelor's degree (desirable) 
- At least 1 year of experience in a similar position.
