Responsibilities

This position will facilitate the effective implementation and introduction of development proposals for safety, quality and efficiency (Kaizen Ideas) arising from the operators working in Production.  The incumbent will operate, develop, and stimulate the related process and promote the culture of continuous improvement.

 

  • Collects and organizes employee ideas and facilitates effective implementation
  • Works independently and also helps coordinate installation of signage, floor tape, etc.
  • Facilitates the formulation of ideas and embraces and supports implementation
  • Proactively seek solutions to specific errors and deficiencies in production with the involvement of those working in the field
  • Ensure the trainings related to the implemented Kaizen developments are coordinated
  • The Kaizen Operator’s work catalyzes continuous improvement

 

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Use of common hand tools; screw drivers, drill, level, tape measure
  • Entry Level knowledge of Microsoft Office along with Outlook/email preferred
  • Strong focus on safety and quality
  • Must be a self-starter and maintains a positive attitude
  • Ability to work with little or no supervision
  • Excellent interpersonal skills demonstrating teamwork
  • Good problem-solving abilities and result-oriented
  • Lead by examples at all times (no safety violations, use proper PPE, show up to work on time)
  • Must follow and abide by Company policies
  • Lean, 5S, Kaizen experience preferred

 

  • Must be able to walk, bend, pull and push without assistance (example: brace, cane)
  • Capable of walking and standing for up to 8 hours per day
  • Constant exposure to indoor manufacturing environment
  • Frequently reach with hands and arms; use hands to manipulate, handle or feel material
  • Constant use of hand/fingers to grasp, pinch, pull, feel or handle and manipulate parts and tools
  • Constant requirement of specific vision abilities including close vision, distant vision, depth perception
  • Constantly wear appropriate PPE including but not limited to eye and foot protection
  • Ability to work around machinery and chemicals
  • Ability to lift to 50 lbs. using proper lifting techniques and Company-provided equipment
