Responsibilities

Day to day technical manager of the Green End processes in North American sites, supporting the Process Engineers.  Ensure that these manufacturing processes, methods, and equipment meet or exceed the requirements of our ISO quality Certifications and are consistent with established standards, customer specifications, and production goals. Perform roles and responsibilities in accordance with direction from the Process Engineering Manager or Process Engineer.  In addition, this position must fulfill the obligations of being an electrical controls/automation advisor who will lead and participate in projects aimed at improving process control, safety, efficiency, and data collection by upgrading electrical controls and instrumentation of Green End process equipment in PA. 

 

Essential Functions:

  1. Monitor process control and SPC outputs to identify out of control conditions, implement and improve process control tools
  2. Lead day to day root cause activity and update associated systems based on in depth practical experience
  3. Operate all lab and pilot equipment (both Quality and Technology)
  4. Present data and reports using various formats and technologies (i.e. PowerPoint, Minitab, Excel, Skype, etc.)
  5. Completes routine tasks or testing as needed to support Technology, Operations, and others.
  6. Lead or support small projects and cross functional teams
  7. Assists in training shop floor associates on manufacturing processes and methods.
  8. Audit and update technical specifications as needed in compliance with quality systems
  9. Propose and execute electrical controls/automation upgrades aimed at improving process quality, stability, efficiency, safety, visibility, etc.

 

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent is required.
  • Proficient in basic math skills – multiplication, division, addition and subtraction is required.
  • Related manufacturing experience is desired.
  • Prior experience working with manufacturing processes that utilize raw material handling, mixing, molding, and high temperature baking equipment (mixers, presses, ovens, etc.) is desired.
  • Basic understanding of quality management systems is desired.
  • Knowledge of Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing techniques is desired.
  • Experience with developing/documenting procedures is required.
  • Computer proficiency.

  • Must have good time management, planning and negotiation skills.
