The Thermal Ceramics division designs, manufactures and installs a broad range of thermal insulation products that significantly reduce energy consumption and emissions in a variety of high temperature processing applications. Responsibilities

Job Purpose 

 

  • The HR Manager is responsible for providing coaching and guidance on all HR matters to leadership, ensuring compliance with Morgan policies and driving a performance culture.  
  • This role involves implementing training and development programs, managing talent acquisition, and acting as a strategic business partner to address HR challenges and drive organizational success. 

 

Essential duties and responsibilities  

 

Include the following: 

 

  • Provide coaching and guidance on all HR matters to leadership, ensuring compliance with Morgan policies and alignment with the regional HR strategy. 
  • Implement training and development programs to address business needs and foster talent development. 
  • Educate and train supervisors and employees on policies, processes, and guidelines, ensuring alignment with the regional HR strategy. 
  • Develop a performance culture by equipping managers with the tools and skills required to effectively manage and drive performance. 
  • Drive the Total Rewards philosophy and strategy within the region. 
  • Lead the Morgan Performance Management Review cycle, ensuring alignment of business strategic goals with individual performance plans. 
  • Support leadership development and succession planning to ensure a pipeline of future talent. 
  • Implement HR key performance indicators (KPIs) for the region and ensure that people and organizational targets are met. 
  • Act as a change agent to drive cultural change initiatives. 
  • Turn HR data into analytics and insights to drive informed decision-making. 
  • Advise leadership on employee and labor relations issues, including discipline and termination, providing information to support decision-making. 
  • Serve as mediator, counselor, and facilitator in resolving disputes between employees and their supervisors or managers. 
  • Handle grievances and participate in union contract negotiations as needed. 
  • Develop programs to enhance employee engagement, improve relations, and offer employee support. 
  • Act proactively as a strategic business partner, identifying issues or challenges and providing advice and expertise to develop creative solutions. 
  • Lead the talent acquisition process, ensuring a positive candidate experience, and oversee onboarding (both soft and HR operations). 
  • Manage HR operations processes within the region.

Qualifications

Education & Acquired Knowledge: What does the role holder need to know? 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. 
  • Strong understanding of HR policies, labor relations, and talent management. 
  • In-depth knowledge of performance management, succession planning, and employee engagement strategies. 

 

Experience: What does the role holder need to be familiar with? 

  • 5+ years of experience as an HR leader, preferably in a unionized, manufacturing facility. 
  • Experience in implementing HR strategies, managing employee relations, and driving cultural change. 
  • Familiarity with talent acquisition processes and HR operations management. 

 

Technology & Systems: What tools does the role holder use? 

  • HR management systems (HRMS/HRIS). 
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). 
  • Analytics and reporting tools for HR data.
