Production Supervisor – 2nd Shift

Location: Elkhart, IN, USA
Business Unit: Thermal Ceramics

Are you ready to lead a manufacturing team in a dynamic, hands-on environment? Morgan Advanced Materials, a global leader in advanced material solutions, is seeking a Production Supervisor for our 2nd shift at our Elkhart, IN facility. As part of our Thermal Ceramics business unit, you’ll play a vital role in overseeing production operations, ensuring safety, quality, and on-time delivery, while empowering your team to achieve operational excellence

 

 

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead by example by championing safety as the top priority and fostering a premier safety culture through VSL/thinkSafe activities.
  • Empower your team by providing training opportunities to enhance skills and achieve advancements in team performance.
  • Coordinate production operations, including staffing, scheduling, and problem-solving to maintain on-time delivery and meet production goals.
  • Monitor performance metrics for quality, efficiency, and output, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions when necessary.
  • Collaborate with leadership to ensure smooth transitions between shifts through effective handovers and communication.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to reduce waste, increase efficiency, and improve quality.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols, quality standards, and operational policies, such as 5S principles, PPE usage, and documentation control.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, providing coaching and feedback to empower team members and resolve challenges on the production floor.

 

Qualifications

What You’ll Bring:

  • Holds an associate degree or equivalent education; a bachelor’s degree is a plus.
  • Has 3-5 years of manufacturing experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems (JDE experience preferred).
  • Possesses excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills to engage with team members at all levels.
  • Has experience leading teams, solving problems, and driving continuous improvement initiatives using Six Sigma and Lean principles.
  • Individual must be a
    • Citizen of the United States, or
    • Permanent resident alien of the United States, or
    • Protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324(a)(3)
