The Technical Ceramics business of Morgan Advanced Materials engineers high performance functional and structural ceramic materials, components and sub-assemblies to address customer-specific technical challenges.

Responsibilities

Overview

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Interim HR Change Manager to join our team in Hayward, California. This role is pivotal in driving and managing change initiatives across the organization, ensuring smooth transitions and the successful implementation of HR projects and strategies.

Provide strategic HR partnership with Senior Leadership Team and Management,  proactive leadership and direction to make optimum use of human resources in the achievement of business objectives by administering, developing and implementing programs in the areas of compensation, recruiting, industrial relations, employee benefits, payroll, communication, employee recognition, training, and development. Manage all system administration functions for T&A/HRIS systems.  Line management responsibility for HR Coordinator.

Key Responsibilities

  • HR Change Management: Develop and implement initiatives that to develop functional effectiveness, delivery of organizational goals and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage key stakeholders, ensuring buy-in and support for HR change & improvement initiatives. Participate in leadership meetings and DGA and other relevant meetings
  • Communication: Design and deliver effective communication plans to keep all stakeholders informed and engaged.
  • Support and Guidance: Provide ongoing support and guidance to employees and managers. Interpret and provide guidance on personnel policies and procedures;
  • Compensation & Benefits: Administer the company reward and benefit programs
  • Compliance & Policies: Maintain compliance with statutory regulations and company policies and provide professional HR advice to local managers. maintain an up-to-date employee handbook. 
  • Administration: Accurate data management and report generation, including HRIS, PMS, AD, Site organisational charts. Administer the affirmative action program; maintain records, reports conform to EEO regulations.
  • Training and Development: Coordinate training and development programs to ensure employees are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge, including performance management and succession planning.
  • Talent acquisition: responsible for recruitment activities; including pre-employment, on-boarding and employee orientations.
  • Employee Relations: Effective ER management, including absence management in accordance with CBA, off-boarding and exit interview reviews.
  • T&A Records Management: Oversee correct timely administration of T&A data, ensuring data submitted in accordance with payroll deadlines. Production of payroll/timekeeping reports and change documentation for audit purposes.
  • DEI: Foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture through employee engagement and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives.

Qualifications

What You’ll Bring:  Person Profile

  • Educational Background: Degree level education with relevant HR qualifications or practical experience.
  • Labor Law: Extensive relevant knowledge of California Labor Laws & Regulations, and US Federal Labor Laws, EEOC Regulations, Pay and Benefits compliance.
  • HR Professional Certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP)
  • HR Expertise: Extensive HR Generalist experience, in Manufacturing environment, with a proven track record of coaching senior leaders and driving team performance.
  • Strategic Thinking & Execution: Ability to think strategically and execute tactically, using data to drive decision-making.
  • Business Acumen, Results & Solutions Orientated:  Commerciality, with a focus on actions that deliver against organisational goals with strong problem solving abilities.
  • Leadership & Communication: Strong leadership skills with the ability to engage stakeholders, manage conflict, and inspire trust and purpose.
  • Globally Collaborative: Collaborate cross-functionally and across the GBU  to achieve business objectives and deliver effective HR Partnership
  • Agility & Flexibility: A proactive approach to managing complex situations and a willingness to adapt to changing business needs with a high degree of resilience.
  • HR Change Management: proficient in change management methodologies and practices.
  • Clear Thinking & Communication: Effective communicator and influencer, capable of presenting ideas and information in clear concise verbal and written formats.  Ability to work effectively with subordinates, peers, and superiors across all business functions.
  • Union Experience: Experience working with Unions and handling collective bargaining processes.
  • IT Skills: Proficient in MS Office Suite, HRIS, T&A and ATS systems is required.

  • Salary Guide: $135,000 - $160,000 (WTW GG12/US Region 6)

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be capable of sitting and using a computer for extended periods of time throughout the workday.
  • Must be capable of occasional travel.
  • Must have the ability to manoeuvre on the shop floor, and perform general administrative duties throughout the facility.
