The Technical Ceramics business of Morgan Advanced Materials engineers high performance functional and structural ceramic materials, components and sub-assemblies to address customer-specific technical challenges.

Responsibilities

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual with expertise in plating, a solid understanding of chemical processes, and the ability to stand for extended periods. This role involves ensuring customer satisfaction by validating product conformance and maintaining high-quality standards.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Operate plating and related equipment to produce high-quality parts that meet customer specifications.
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of all documentation related to job and part production.
  • Conduct regular statistical sampling to ensure consistent quality.
  • Maintain a clean, organized workstation and perform preventive maintenance on equipment.
  • Identify and communicate opportunities to improve manufacturing processes, reduce costs, and enhance safety.
  • Adhere to all company policies, safety standards, and procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, particularly with plating processes, is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of chemical safety policies, procedures, and safe working practices, including SDS.
  • Basic mathematical skills are essential.
  • Familiarity with plating processes, including Electroless and Electrolytic plating, and handling chemicals like Solvents, Acids, and Nickel-Plating solutions.
  • Basic understanding of technical drawings and tolerancing standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is a plus.
  • Strong verbal, written, and listening communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, and move about for the entire shift, including climbing, stooping, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Manual dexterity and good eyesight are necessary for detailed work.
  • Frequent communication with team members and supervisors is required, both in person and via telephone.
  • Regular use of personal protective equipment, including eye and hearing protection.

Additional Skills

  • Experience with plating and chemical processes, including Alconox and Aqua Regia makeup, ABF analysis, and pull test plating (Watts).
  • Ability to perform basic cleaning duties, filter changes for plating, and operate grit/bead blast equipment.
  • Familiarity with clean room procedures, dryer box use, and kiln firing.
  • Experience with applying decals and fasteners, assisting in laser and assembly work, and operating CNC Servo in a paint room.
  • Competence in using small hand tools and performing final clean tasks on blood valves and critical clean rods.

Working Conditions

  • Regular and predictable attendance is required.
  • This role involves working in environments where chemicals are used regularly, and appropriate safety measures must be followed at all times.

Pay Range:  $22.00 to $24.00 Per Hour plus 10% shift differential
