Responsibilities

The Sr. Process Engineer will evaluate a process' efficiency, effectiveness, quality, and safety. They then identify any areas that need to be improved or changed, with the ultimate goal being to make a process efficient and less costly. The Sr. Process Engineer also has the responsibility to develop, implement, and manage the manufacturing processes, methods, and equipment designed to ensure continuous production of advanced ceramics that meet or exceed our customers’ expectations. 

At Morgan, we ensure the safety of travelers and enable the efficiency gains of modern aerospace engines through the development of turbine engine components with our industry leading material performance and high volume production processes.

 

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, implement, and verify control systems for our production processes to meet the customer requirements according to the standards set in the Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Design, develop, and deploy process improvements to manufacturing processes, methods, and controls.
  • Document and control process changes in accordance to the QMS.
  • Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions to ensure compliance with site Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Develops manufacturing Drawings, Bills of Materials, Routers, Work Instructions, and Control Plans using manufacturing engineering best practices.
  • Provide support in New Product Development & testing, APQP, PPAP, product and process validation, product audits, drawing & BOM conformance, and projects related to standard work & reduction in process variation.
  • Conducts PFMEAs on manufacturing processes, methods, equipment, and controls.
  • Evaluates and troubleshoots manufacturing, quality and assembly line issues using failure mode effect analysis (FMEA) and other problem solving methods, perform process capacity and capability analysis.
  • Collaborate with other departments in the implementation of safety, continuous improvement, and site-wide lean activities.
  • Make technical presentations.
  • Develop a high- level of proficiency with all production processes and related equipment.
  • Ability to mentor engineers and help the development of a strong team.
  • Writes and submits Capital Expenditure requests.
  • Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical, Mechanical-Electrician, Mechatronic, Materials, or related disciplines.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification
  • Lean Manufacturing tools (SMED, VSM, TPM, 6S, JIT, etc.)
  • MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Teams)
  • Intermediate knowledge of Minitab and Statistics (Process Capability, Descriptive Statistics, Hypothesis tests, DOE, etc.)
  • Problem-solving tools (8D's, PDCA, Pareto, Ishikawa, A3, etc.)
  • Proficient in English (Written and conversational)
  • Minimum 7 years experience in the manufacturing industry.
  • Able to work well with subordinates, peers and superiors in all departments of the Company.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Good time management and planning skills.

PREFERENTIAL SKILLS

  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification
  • Experience in injection molding processes
  • Experience in ceramic processes
  • Experience with ISO9001 or AS9100
