The Thermal Ceramics division designs, manufactures and installs a broad range of thermal insulation products that significantly reduce energy consumption and emissions in a variety of high temperature processing applications. Operations Director – Thermal Ceramics Americas

Location: Augusta, GA, USA
Department: Operations
Reports to: Managing Director Americas

Are you ready to lead and innovate in the field of advanced materials? Do you have the skills to drive operational excellence across multiple manufacturing sites? Join our team at Morgan Advanced Materials as an Operations Director for our Thermal Ceramics business unit.

What You’ll Do:

  • Provide operational and strategic leadership to the manufacturing sites, ensuring safety, quality, and adherence to global HR policies.
  • Sponsor lean manufacturing methods and drive loss eradication initiatives.
  • Manage plant KPI dashboard reviews and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop and mentor the operational leadership team.
  • Support the transition to the new ERP system and improve data management across plants.
  • Collaborate with the North American leadership team to align and roll out the regional strategy.
  • Optimize the asset base to enhance efficiencies and margins.
  • Champion the design of the future operational footprint.

Qualifications

 

What You’ll Bring:

  • Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Industrial preferred); MBA is a plus.
  • Significant experience in process manufacturing, preferably in a similar sized business with multiple sites and countries.
  • Proven leadership in culture change initiatives and lean methodologies.
  • Experience in a unionized environment and successful collective bargaining.
  • Fluency in English; Spanish fluency is a plus.
  • Strong strategic capability, problem analysis, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to drive and execute programs and projects with resilience and adaptability.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to influence and build lasting relationships
