Responsibilities

INDUSTRIAL ENGINEER JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Industrial Engineer will work with members of the Capital projects team and Facility team to devise efficient ways to use workers, machines, materials, information, and energy to make better products and improve processes. Working with the Capital projects team, the Industrial Engineer will be working as part of a project implementation team. The ideal candidate will provide technical support in-line with his or her degreed discipline but work with and across all disciplines needed to complete the capital projects. This position will have a direct line to the Zenith leadership team and a dotted line to their functional leader. 

 

Essential Functions:

· Work with the broader team to optimize our upcoming capital growth plans

· Create and maintain projection site layouts including station designs, WIP queues, and production flow

· Involvement in all facets of the system from workstation design, analyzing operations, creating site layouts, creating manufacturing standards, shop floor problem solving and assisting with growth planning

· Create and maintain manufacturing process documentation including work instructions, process flow charts, capacity, etc.

· Utilize Industrial Engineering techniques and Lean concepts such as value stream mapping, waste identification, root cause analysis problem solving, etc. to set up the equipment and improve performance

· Support the Capital Team in design, implement, maintain and improve instruments, equipment, facilities, components, and products

· Support the Capital Team in preparing specification for purchase of materials and equipment

· Support/oversee project production efforts to assure projects are completed satisfactorily, on time and within budget

· Assist in developing capital projects for new equipment and major repairs

· Develops budgets, estimating labor, material, and construction costs

· Write and submit Capital Expenditure requests

· Evaluates, troubleshoots, and solves equipment or process problems on the shop floor

· Assists in training all shop floor associates on manufacturing processes and methods

· Support Operations team with monitoring of operations with an eye toward improving productivity and efficiency

· Design efficient production processes that reduce waste

· Develop and implement process improvements

· Recommend cost-saving measures and improvements

· Evaluate data to implement technological improvements

 

Qualifications

Qualifications/experience required:

· Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or closely related field

· Advanced knowledge of production machinery, processes, and standards

· 5 years of related experience

· Project Management experience

· Trained in the use of AutoCad or Solid Works desired

· Basic understanding of quality management systems in an ISO 9001/AS 9100

· Knowledge of Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing

· Experience with developing and documenting procedures is required

· Strong written and verbal communication skills

· Good leadership skillset to assist with implementation of productivity changes.

· Good Collaboration skills is a must

· This position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR), and Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC).

· Individual must be a: Citizen of the United States, or Permanent resident alien of the United States, or Protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3) as defined by 22CFR120.15

· Responsible for creating, transmitting, storing, and destroying Controlled Unclassified Information/Technology per government regulation and company procedure

· Must adhere to the Morgan Technology Transfer Control Plan, government regulations, and company procedures.

· Assist Export Compliance Manager in classifying new products, materials and processes

· Must not export controlled technology to a foreign national without approval from the Export Compliance Manager

· Having access to CUI (controlled unclassified information).
