Job Title: Digital Transformation Director – Thermal Ceramics and MMS

Role Description:

As the Digital Transformation Director for the Global Business Units Thermal Ceramics and MMS, you will play a pivotal role in driving and achieving digital transformation objectives aligned with both business and IT strategies. You will lead and manage the Digital Transformation Team dedicated to these GBUs, ensuring the seamless adoption of global IT services and serving as the primary point of contact for strategic IT matters.

 

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Define, execute and steer the digital transformation journey for the dedicated GBUs effectively.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with associated GBUs, providing strategic counsel to align GBU-specific digital transformation goals with overarching business and IT strategies.
  • Drive the formulation of the future-state vision, assess and qualify innovative ideas, and pinpoint improvement areas within the digital transformation process.
  • Facilitate the collection of business requirements and demands, overseeing a systematic prioritization process. Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to discuss trade-offs and dynamically adjust priorities as needed.
  • Craft compelling business cases for digital transformation initiatives
  • Resolve escalations and conflicts in collaboration with the CIO Office, particularly regarding Project Portfolio Management (PPM).
  • Assume ownership of the GBU roadmap, GBU demand, and project portfolio, serving as the integrator to align digital initiatives seamlessly with the overall GBU strategy.
  • Champion upskilling initiatives for GBU personnel in digital technologies, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of digital concepts and their profound impact on business operations.
  • Take charge of the IT landscape of the GBU, ensuring its strategic alignment with digital transformation goals and fostering an environment of continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Strategic Visionary
    • Proven track record of developing and executing transformative digital strategies that have significantly impacted business outcomes.
    • Demonstrated ability to foresee industry trends, assess their relevance, and integrate innovative technologies to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Technological Proficiency:
    • Knowledge of at least one cutting-edge digital technology such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, and IoT, and a proven ability to translate these technologies into impactful business solutions.
    • Hands-on experience with implementing projects in at least one of the domains of advanced analytics, digital customer/vendor journey, IoT, process automation, cloud computing, to drive digital transformation securely and efficiently.
  • Global Business Acumen:
    • Extensive experience working in a global business environment, with a deep understanding of international markets, regulatory landscapes, and cultural nuances.
    • Proven ability to tailor digital transformation initiatives to diverse global markets, ensuring alignment with local business needs and regulatory requirements.
  • Innovation Leadership:
    • Track record of successfully leading and nurturing a culture of innovation within teams, driving ideation, experimentation, and the adoption of emerging technologies.
    • Experience in establishing and managing partnerships with external innovation hubs, startups, and research institutions to stay at the forefront of technological advancements.
  • Data-Driven Decision-Making
    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to leverage data and insights to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement.
  • Agile Mastery:
    • Proficiency in agile methodologies, with a history of successfully leading cross-functional agile teams in delivering complex digital projects on time and within budget.
  • Change Management Expertise:
    • Proven ability to lead organizational change initiatives, fostering a culture of adaptability and continuous improvement.
    • Experience in driving change through effective communication, stakeholder engagement, and providing the necessary training and support for the organization to embrace digital transformation.
  • Education and Certifications:
    • Advanced degree in a relevant field such as Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
    • Professional certifications in digital transformation, project management, or relevant technologies (e.g., Certified ScrumMaster, DevOps Leader, etc.).
