The Thermal Ceramics division designs, manufactures and installs a broad range of thermal insulation products that significantly reduce energy consumption and emissions in a variety of high temperature processing applications. Responsibilities

At Morgan Advanced Materials, we’re in the process of standardizing our processes and data globally. This is a great opportunity for someone This position is primarily an in-house ‘Business Data Analyst’ who would work with regional executive leaders to solve North America business challenges & global Master Data Management and IT in to support of a major transformation project. Using the existing analytic tools and processes, we’re able to maximize our offerings and deliver unparalleled service and support.

 

To help carry us even further, we’re searching for an experienced data analyst to join our team as we transition to a standardized global ERP solution for all of Morgan. The ideal candidate should be highly skilled in all aspects of data analytics, including mining, generation, and visualization. Additionally, you should be committed to transforming data into readable, goal-driven reports for continued innovation and growth.

 

The essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Through close collaboration with North America business leaders, gain an in-depth understanding of business requirements across multiple functional areas.
  • Ally with local organizational leaders to understand and maintain focus on their analytical needs, including identifying critical metrics and KPIs. Deliver actionable insights to relevant decision-makers.
  • Work closely with Global Director of Master Data Management & Business Intelligence as well as Regional IT project managers in support of global standardization project and the roll out of a transformational global ERP solution.
  • Proactively identify opportunity for process improvements, recommend system modifications, and develop policies for data governance
  • Designing and maintaining master data including creation, updates and deletion; this includes fixing data errors and other data-related problems.
  • Proactively analyze data to answer key questions from stakeholders or out of self-initiated curiosity with an eye for what drives business performance, investigating and communicating areas for improvement in efficiency and productivity.
  • Creating appropriate documentation that allows stakeholders to understand the steps of the data analysis process and duplicate or replicate the analysis if necessary, on periodic basis.
  • Create and maintain rich interactive visualizations through data interpretation and analysis integrating various reporting components from multiple data sources.
  • Define and implement data acquisition and integration logic, selecting appropriate combination of methods and tools within defined technology stack to ensure optimal scalability and performance of the solution.
  • Develop and maintain databases by acquiring data from primary and secondary sources and build scripts that will make our data evaluation process more flexible or scalable across data sets.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Economics, Statistics or Mathematics.
  • 4+ years of work experience as a data analyst with proven analytic skills, including mining, evaluation, analysis, and visualization.
  • Attention to detail with an analytical mind and inclination for problem-solving.
  • Strong SQL or Excel skills with the ability to learn other analytic tools.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to be in Augusta, GA (minimum 50% of the time) 
  • This position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR), and Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC). Individual must be a:
    o Citizen of the United States, or
    o Permanent resident alien of the United States, or
    o Protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3) as defined by 22CFR120.15

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience with manufacturing sector & familiarization with relevant data entities is preferred.
  • Strong programming experience with databases (SQL), ETL frameworks.
  • Strong knowledge of and experience with JD Edwards and its database schema.
  • Knowledge of designing or maintaining reports using HUBBLE.
  • Microsoft 365 Dynamics experience.
