Maintenance Supervisor Major Responsibilities: Organize, plan and direct the work of Fostoria’s Maintenance team. Working through and

with facility supervision and leads (if any) to maintain and improve safety, product on time delivery, quality, cost,

profitability and new business development by facilitating action and communication.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

12 hour continuous shift schedule with rotating days off. (night shift and day shift available.)

· Manage spare parts inventory to Total Predictive Maintenance norms and capital objectives

· Work with outside contractors (where appropriate) to safely and cost-effectively meet facility and business

needs

· Maintain a lean, participative culture supporting continuous improvement goals

· Create, develop and execute organizational and personal goals while building trust and growing the team

· Ensure planned maintenance system is implemented and successfully operating by utilizing a computer based

management tool or program.

· Lead team towards a true Total Predictive Maintenance culture

· Lead/facilitate Maintenance team to implement value-added changes in systems and processes

· Manage and support the Safety of all team members and outside contractors.

· Ability to work with diverse plant population including salaried employees, unionized production employees,

journeymen and outside contractors and vendors.

· Manage employees of multiple skilled trades, journeyman and apprentices

· Utilize ADP, Excel, Word and/or other programs to approve weekly payroll, track and schedule hourly

employee overtime, and prioritize daily work schedules.

· Perform toolbox discussions and/or training, ensure all training requirements are satisfied and documented.

· Ability to run and execute maintenance projects to support plant requirements

 

 

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications and Education Requirements: Minimum of an Associate’s degree in any discipline and or equialent work experience in Industrial maintenance. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in industrial maintenance leadership. Experience with maintaining diverse industrial equipment and systems. Electrical and Electrical Controls experience strongly preferred. Experience working in a unionized environment is strongly preferred. Experience in the principles of Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 6S, and STOP are a plus. Must be a US Person as defined by 22CFR120.15.

 

Additional Requirements and Physical Demands:

· Must be willing to respond to emergency situations outside normal schedule.

· Maintain and enforce good housekeeping strategies and methodologies.

· Must be safety conscious

· Must be self-motivated while aiding towards a team goal

· Must be able to stand/walk for prolonged periods of time

· Must be able to walk, bend, pull and push with-out assistance ( example: brace, cane)

· Must be able to lift/push/pull 50+ pounds

· Must be able to be exposed to cold/hot weather conditions

· Must have the ability to work independently and with minimal supervision

· Must be able to use a respirator when required
