The Technical Ceramics business of Morgan Advanced Materials engineers high performance functional and structural ceramic materials, components and sub-assemblies to address customer-specific technical challenges.

Responsibilities

Summary:

The Analytical Chemist is to be responsible for studying the chemical make-up of materials that are essential in manufacturing business. The Chemist's responsibilities include preparing test solutions, analysing compounds, and conducting quality control tests. This position requires an individual to be analytical, detail oriented, and logical.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Must be able to set-up and operate a variety of laboratory equipment and systems, preferably spectroscopic instrumentation.
  • Perform analysis on incoming raw material samples/in-process production samples/ finished goods and packaging line samples, powders and liquids.
  • Prepare lab reagents according to formulas and assume responsibility for their accuracy.
  • Adjust and maintain lab equipment
  • Handle a variety of complex operations and duties in a high-volume production environment
  • Interface with maintenance technicians and vendors associated with equipment
  • Completes and maintains quality control documentation as per company procedures
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry
  • Manufacturing experience, in a laboratory setting preferred
  • Knowledge of the principles and practice of laboratory quality assurance and quality control
  • Knowledge of laboratory safety practices and procedures
  • Attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and positive attitude
  • Ability to satisfactorily perform routine tasks accurately and promptly, working independently

 Individual must be a:

  • Citizen of the United States, or
  • Permanent resident alien of the United States, or
  • Protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3) as defined by 22CFR120.15

Salary Range: Salaried exempt $75,000 - $87,000 plus bonus potential 10%
